Why Asr (Afternoon Prayer) Is Important

• Asr is the "middle prayer" (Al-Salat Al-Wusta) mentioned in the Quran: "Guard strictly the prayers, especially the middle prayer." (Surah Al-Baqarah 2:238)
• The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "Whoever prays the Fajr and Asr prayers will enter Paradise." (Bukhari & Muslim)
• Missing Asr intentionally is a major sin. The Prophet said: "Whoever misses the Asr prayer, it is as if he has lost his family and wealth." (Bukhari)
